If you've ever done acupuncture or yoga, you know how marvelously they can transform your life. Why not combine these two ancient and very powerful health systems, in a fun, informative and social way, for double the effect on body, mind and spirit?

In our acuyoga fusion workshops, experience both therapies. The yoga practice will explore the topic of study through movement and discussion. The acupuncture portion will explain that topic as it's seen in Traditional Chinese Medicine, while you experience a treatment designed for the system of consideration.

Acuyoga Seasonal Series

5 yearly: Winter, Spring, Summer, Late Summer and Fall.

At each change of season, a different organ system becomes more active, as seen in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). During this shift, it's more common for problems to arise within that system.

When we talk about organ systems in Chinese Medicine, they have bio-medically associated functions, but they also have additional functions that we will explore. Learn about both, as you find out what systems of yours may need a little extra attention.

First, you'll be lead through a series of yoga postures, designed to promote health and healing in the meridian and organ system that we're addressing. Then we’ll use a series of acupuncture points on the arms, legs, hands and feet, to further address this system and explains the season's effect on our body. We'll end with a meditation and Q&A session.

In winter we work on the kidney. In spring we work on the liver. In summer we address the heart. In late summer we service the spleen and in the fall we influence the lungs.

Acuyoga Chakra Series

The chakras are the energy centers of the body, as seen through an Ayurvedic perspective. There are seven main, and 21+ minor chakras, in the Hindu system.

Each chakra encompasses major bundles of nerves and different organ systems, as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being.

Get a fundamental understanding of a different chakra each class and see how it overlaps with Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The series starts with the Root Chakra/ Muladhara and ascends through the 7 main chakras, ending with the Crown Chakra/Sahasrara. During the last 3 months of the series, we'll move into some of the minor chakras and their functions.

This workshop explores the chakra system through yoga, acupuncture, music, essential oils, gemstones and guided meditation.

During the first hour, learn the basics about the chakra we're working on, while you're guided through a yoga flow designed to balance it. This class is non-heated and is for all levels. Modifications will be made to suit your skill level. Then a series of acupuncture points will be used to address the chakra and you will learn how it overlaps with Traditional Asian Medicine.

ACUYOGA GODDESS SERIES

Cultivate your inner goddess. Start with an in depth lecture on the goddess of study. Her mantra and mudra will be given alongside the mystical story of her creation. Yoga sequence to celebrate and explore the goddess within. Acupuncture treatment for relaxation and connecting the mental/emotional/spiritual aspects of self. A mystical journey through meditation with Mala beads. Time given for reflection and journaling.

Goddess myths have inhabited the human imagination and spirit for thousands of years, representing the eternally feminine qualities that pattern women's lives.

In the goddess series of workshops we’ll focus on recognizing the different goddess archetypes within ourselves. Which archetypes do you resonate with? Which feel challenging? Which ones you would like to further develop in order to bring more balance and harmony into your life?

Find the goddess within.

Acuyoga Yin-Yang Edition

Yin and Yang are fundamental concepts in Chinese Medicine. They're opposites, but also complementary and interdependent forces of nature.

The nature of yin-yang is not absolute, but rather, relative. All aspects of the natural world can be seen as having a dual nature. Under certain conditions, yin may transform into yang and vice versa. It is also true that any phenomenon may be divided infinitely into its yin and yang parts.

Learn about this concept, as you're lead through a combination, yin-restorative and yang-dragon flow, yoga class.

This class is for all levels.

After yoga, you’ll receive a tailored acupuncture treatment to balance both, Yin and Yang, aspects of the body.

We'll end the workshop with a guided mantra meditation and follow up with a Q&A session for those interested.

R&R Acuyoga (Relax & Restore)

Restore. Refresh. Renew.

This workshop is for all skill levels. It starts with restorative yoga, follows with group acupuncture and ends with guided meditation.

For those of you unfamiliar with restorative yoga, this relaxing and nurturing class promotes the effects of conscious relaxation. Blankets and bolsters are utilized for maximum comfort. This enables a deep release in connective tissue and a calmness in the central nervous system.

The acupuncture portion of this workshop further aids in stress relief, relaxing the body and calming the mind. A guided imagery qi gong meditation concludes the workshop with an invigorating visualization. Essential oils and tuning forks will be used to enhance this experience.

Acuyoga Nidra for Sleep

In this workshop, we’ll get the body warmed and the mind cooled to set you up for a peaceful night’s rest.

The yoga sequence is designed to get the body moving and the endorphins running. We’ll get the heart rate up, break a little sweat and warm up the body. This class is for all levels.

Then the acupuncture session will cool the body and mind down for a restful night’s sleep. It will include a yoga nidra. Yoga nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”.
